Extracurricular Activities
Master the Mainframe
WT CS program annually competes in the North American Master the Mainframe Contest.
- We have been competing in this competition since 2008.
- This is a contest for which there are over 6,000 competitors every year.
- WTAMU students have placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the annual Master the Mainframe Contest. Among all North American universities competing, WTAMU is among the top five for number of winners. These winners have received trips to Poughkeepsie, NY with tours of the IBM System Z manufacturing facility and the IBM Executive Briefing Center. They were also treated to multi-course dinners at the Culinary Institute of America.
- WTAMU is among the top five North American universities with number of students receiving Honorable Mention in the Master the Mainframe Contest. Those who receive Honorable Mention rank in the top 1% of all competitors.
