Professional Profile
Dr. Tabei joined the College of Engineering in Fall 2021. She received her B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Shiraz University in 2009, and 2014, respectively. She also received her second M.S. and her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Tabei has a teaching experience in programming and computer science courses such as Introduction to Computer Science, Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming (Python), and Programming Fundamentals (MATLAB).
Dr. Tabei is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE).
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Tabei’s research line is related to topics such as” Machine learning”, “Smart Sensors”, "IoT”, Biomedical Signal Processing”, “Biomedical Image Processing”, and “Smartphone Healthcare Applications (mHealth)”.
Specifically, her research background includes applying smart sensors and IoT Solutions for healthcare applications, detecting health problems/diseases, and monitoring health conditions/vital signs collected from wireless sensor networks and/or smartphone devices.
Dr. Tabei is the co-investigator of 2 U.S. patents on “Diagnostic tool for eye disease detection” and “Diagnostic tool for eye disease detection using smartphone”, and has been the author and co-author of several journals and conference publications.
